# Ibiza & Formentera Areas: Where to Stay with LeibTour
> Find the best area to stay in Ibiza or Formentera — from San Antonio nightlife to Santa Eulalia family beaches and quiet rural Ibizan retreats.
Choosing the right area is just as important as choosing the right property. Ibiza is compact — you can cross the island in under an hour — but each corner has its own distinct character, price point, and crowd. Whether you're after sunset cocktails, a quiet beach, the heart of the party scene, or a rural escape, LeibTour has properties across all the main areas and beyond.
A **tourism tax (Ecotasa)** applies throughout the Balearic Islands — including all areas of Ibiza and Formentera. The amount varies by property category and season (typically €1–€4 per person per night). This tax is collected directly by the property at check-in and is not included in your LeibTour booking total.
## Main Areas
**The nightlife capital of the west coast.** San Antonio is Ibiza's most famous resort town and the base for many first-time visitors. The West End strip packs in bars and clubs within easy walking distance, while the San Antonio harbour is home to legendary sunset bars like Café del Mar and Café Mambo — the soundtrack to an Ibiza evening.

If you want the energy of San Antonio without the noise, look at properties on the quieter northern edge of town or on the bay road — still walkable to the sunset strip, but a notch calmer at night.
**Relaxed beach life with easy access to the action.** San Antonio Bay (Bahía de San Antonio) curves around the coastline just south of San Antonio town. The pace here is noticeably slower — beach bars replace nightclubs, and the sandy beaches are the main draw. The area has a well-established gay-friendly scene and attracts a mixed, sociable crowd.

**Ibiza's most family-friendly resort — and LeibTour's largest selection.** Santa Eulalia del Río sits on the east coast and is the island's third-largest town. It has a handsome seafront promenade, a marina, calm sheltered beaches, and a sophisticated atmosphere that attracts families, couples, and longer-stay visitors. The restaurant scene is excellent, and the weekly hippy market at Es Canar (nearby) is a must.

**Ibiza's longest beach, right on the club doorstep.** Playa den Bossa is a 3km strip of white sand running south from Ibiza Town. It's home to Ushuaïa and Hi Ibiza — two of the island's biggest clubs — as well as a string of beach clubs, beach bars, and watersports operators. The atmosphere is buzzy day and night throughout the summer season.

* **Vibe:** High energy, glamorous, non-stop in peak season

**The historic heart of the island.** Ibiza Town (Eivissa) is centred on Dalt Vila — a UNESCO World Heritage-listed walled old town — and spreads out to the marina, the Figueretas neighbourhood, and the sandy coves at Talamanca. It's the most cosmopolitan part of Ibiza, with high-end restaurants, designer boutiques, and Pacha (one of the world's most iconic nightclubs) practically next door.

* **Vibe:** Upscale, historic, central, vibrant marina scene

**A quieter island paradise, a short ferry ride away.** Formentera is a separate island, 30 minutes by fast ferry from Ibiza Town's port. It's smaller, less developed, and strikingly beautiful — turquoise lagoon waters, powdery white sand at Ses Illetes beach, and a relaxed pace that feels a world away from Ibiza's clubs. LeibTour has a limited but carefully selected inventory here, mainly in the Es Pujols area.

Formentera is only accessible by ferry from Ibiza Town's port. There are no bridges or roads connecting the two islands. Budget extra time and cost for the crossing, and book ferry tickets in advance during July and August when boats fill up quickly.
