# Guest Registration: Spain's Legal Requirement Explained

> Learn why Spain requires guest registration, what information LeibTour collects, how your data is handled, and how to complete the form after booking.

When you book accommodation in Spain, the law requires your personal details to be registered with the authorities. This isn't unique to LeibTour — it applies to every accommodation provider across the country. This page explains the requirement in plain language, tells you exactly what to expect, and shows you how to complete the process quickly after your booking is confirmed.

## What Is Guest Registration?

Guest registration is a legal obligation under **Real Decreto 933/2021**, a Spanish royal decree that requires all accommodation providers — hotels, rental apartments, villas, and others — to collect and transmit guest information to law enforcement authorities. The data is used for crime prevention and public security purposes.

LeibTour collects this information on behalf of your property and transmits it to the relevant Spanish authorities within 24 hours of your booking being confirmed.

<Info>
  This is a nationwide requirement that applies to all guests, regardless of nationality. It is not specific to LeibTour or to the Balearic Islands.

## When Do You Need to Complete It?

Complete the guest registration form **after your booking is confirmed**. You'll receive a confirmation email from LeibTour with a link to the form, or you can access it directly at any time:

## Non-EU Travellers: Visa Documentation

If you're travelling from outside the European Union and your nationality requires a visa to enter Spain, there is one additional step. LeibTour must manually verify your visa documentation before transmitting your registration to the authorities.

<Accordion title="What does the manual verification process involve?">
  After you submit your guest registration form, the LeibTour team will review your visa information manually. This process typically takes **up to 1 business day**.
